Renaissance 2007!!!

Hi everyone, i'm back! Today i am going to tell you about the day 21th of July,2007 which is very memorable for me. It is a performance by our school band. It is held in the University Cultural Center(UCC). The tickets cost $15.00 each but is free to all josephains.(paid in miscellaneous fees).It starts at 7pm and ends at 10pm at night.As a bandsman,i have to report to the UCC at 3pm. It was quite a waste of time actually. We waited there for the Recruiting Officer(RO) to tell us to go in for the preview. Only at 5pm then are we allowed to go in. After watching the preview,we went for our lunch. Then we are dismissed to watch the show. We sat down at the stalls with my batchmates. The band came marching in with a marching song,Josephian March(which i knew how to play). They settled down at the concert area, then the show starts. I was amazed by two songs,Spaceship Yamato and Pirates Of The Caribbean.One was played by the school band and the other by the alumni band. I love the performance by them. I hope to play as well as them when i grow up and do the school proud.

My First Three Months In SJI!

Hi everyone! I’m VCH. I got 230 for my PSLE (as I have wished) and ended up in the
lousiest class in SJI. The school is quite small but bigger than my sister’s. At first, I felt strange
but soon I got used to it. There was an orientation camp and I made some new friends. I also learnt
new subjects such as geography, history and literature. I like geography as it tells us about the Earth (which is very cool to me). Around February, the Individual Enrichment Programme (IEP) starts for all classes. It is held every Tuesday at 12.30pm - 2.10pm.Due to the mistake that my father made, I randomly chose Squash as I had learnt it outside. And because of that, I beat many people including my classmate, ZAACHARY! My band practice start at the early days of March. I did not have a chance to choose the instrument because of my size. I felt fed up and a step forward and told the teacher about my wish. (To play the saxophone) The next week, she told me to try the saxophone to see if I can play it. And do you know what happened? I could play it! The teacher allowed me to play it. I felt very happy.Soon Hassanal,my classmate joined me in saxophone. I made friends with my batch mates and also get to learn a new instrument. Due to the shortage of instruments, I have to share with my seniors. I also get to know my seniors. We also had a band camp at 24th of March. Oh yes, I also got 16th in class position for my first test but it’s not quite fabulous. I had wanted to be the first few people in class. I would say that I’m quite satisfied with this few months. The SYF is coming soon, hope our school gets GOLD! Got to take a shower now, bye!
